The Program Manager is primarily for providing leadership on one of our energy efficiency programs. In this hands-on management role, you will oversee energy programs and will work closely with both Clients and a team of energy professionals to achieve Client goals and other program objectives. You will be responsible for developing an increased awareness in and adoption of targeted energy-efficient technologies, strategic market development, customer satisfaction, as well as delivering on Client goals related to outreach activity and energy savings. You will work closely with one or a variation of Trade Allies to include manufacturers, distributors, contractors of commercial energy efficiency products, such as lighting, HVAC, and other energy-equipment.
Job Details Include:
• Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitoring all aspects of the program tasks, reporting, and follow-up on progress and achievements
• Responsible for program implementation and strategic marketing planning.
• Communicating directly with the Program Director, field staff, construction staff, administrative staff, and small business customers.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
• Define and develop sales and communication plans working with trade allies, utilities, and team members to drive program results.
• Maintain accurate project tracking records to document commercial and industrial lighting projects that have been influenced and completed through utility programs.
• Participate in company training, communications, and program planning efforts to drive successful results to meet Client needs.
• Prepare monthly invoices and activity reports as required to the Client, partner, or Client management by the requested due date.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to program staff including managing incentive promotions, marketing programs, and assisting team creatively meet the goals of the program.
• Monitor and manage program budgets to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting or exceeding energy goals.
• Incorporate “best practice” methods of energy efficiency program implementation.
• Liaise with program stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Respond to questions from customers, contractors, field team and others as necessitated.
• Assess staffing needs and take the appropriate steps for recruitments.
• Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track and produce progress reports, proposals, presentations, or other required documentation.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors to encourage positive action and build accountability for their assigned tasks or projects.
• Manage performance for team members as required by Client policy or schedule.
• Ensuring the accurate and timely input of energy savings data into Client’s database system.
• Must be able to perform the duties of all the Client energy efficiency positions from auditing, office administration to inventory management.
• Engagement in any and all areas critical to program success.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the program within business goals and objectives.
• Conduct project postmortems and create recommendation reports identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements, best practices, and tools for project execution and management for future projects.
Position Requirements Include:
• Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of basic gas, water and electrical principals.
• Two (2) years of management/supervisory experience including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and mentoring.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, must be able to interact with a diverse customer base and maintain effective working relationships.
• Must be fluent and proficient in English.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Ability to delegate and clearly communicate general instructions to team members.
• Ability to motivate team members to work effectively as part of a group.
• Knowledge of software tools, such as, Microsoft Office, project management, presentation and workflow programs, and program tracking tools and techniques.
• Skill with computerized tracking systems and ability to run specific and complex queries.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum two (2) of years of experience in managing energy efficiency programs – Preferred.
• Experience in lighting, HVAC, and other technologies installed in commercial and industrial applications – Preferred.
• Technical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations to determine paybacks and incentive levels for customers – Preferred.
• Successful Applicant must have valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and current automobile liability insurance in their name.
