WIC Pilot Responsibilities

1) Set up and maintain a tracking system for all supplies provided to WIC clinics and blood samples sent in to ISDH

2) Track participation rates by clinic in order to determine how many children will be tested

3) Receive all samples and coordinate with Lab staff to process for testing. This includes pulling data from WIC systems and entering data into the Lab tracking system

4) Develop, and track receipt of, patient sign off and data release forms.

5) Communicate results of elevated blood lead levels to Lead case management staff, clinic staff, and parents

6) Inventory all tests, results, and client demographic info for project evaluation

7) Work closely with the project evaluator to determine impacts of the pilot

For Case Management Support

1) Support data entry staff in reviewing and researching missing information associated with incomplete blood lead sample submissions

2) Assist case managers in reviewing and clearing blood lead database records with erroneous information

3) Follow-up with doctor office staff on cases where communication hasn’t regularly occurred

4) Scan and shred historical licensure and case management files

Job Requirements

1) Experience leading projects from inception to closure

2) Working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations relating to lead and medical privacy (HIPPA)

3) Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate in an oral and written format to professionals and non-professionals

4) Extensive experience working in Microsoft Excel and comfort merging data between multiple sources

5) Comfort working independently for extended periods of time, utilizing email, chat, and phone for primary contact

6) Ability to interpret data, prepare reports and related literature

7) Ability to use the internet and traditional research sources effectively
