Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Conduct interviews via phone and in person.
• Analyze gathered information received to determine jurisdiction and to draft complaints of discrimination.
• Concise written articulation of violations (or non-violations) to include all of the relevant facts gathered using appropriate formatting as determined by the supervisor.
• Draft 3 complaints daily.
• Maintain and update appropriate database.
• Assist Program Director with reviewing submitted drafts by team members.
• Establish effective working relationships with coworkers and/ or the public by serving as a resource to educate.
• Other administrative tasks necessary for the operation of the ICRC office.

Job Requirements:
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the Indiana Civil Rights Law, Employment and Fair Housing Laws.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Rights.
• Ability to secure relevant information to determine jurisdiction and accurately apply to all areas covered by the Indiana Civil Rights law including employment, housing, credit, public accommodation, and education.
• Ability to review charges of discrimination and make recommendations to the Program Director.
• Ability to educate persons who make an inquiry at the Commission office regarding civil rights complaints and to assist them in filing a complaint
• Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
